OC-Training: new enrollments open
Hi everyone! It's that time of the year again. I emerge from the basement of depression to throw myself into four months of insane fun with other OC creators and storytellers in @OC-training. To my new watchers, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay. Don't be shy to say hello and check out what we're doing here. Why join: It's intense, engaging and addictive. All OCs are welcome. ALL OF THEM. You don't have to meet the deadlines aside from two major ones and one mid-round. Art trades are optional. (Every task is optional.) Guaranteed feedback. We're probably one of the most welcoming communities of DeviantArt (very much a self-proclaimed title :giggle: ) - even though we're not a huge group, we're devoted to our common goal: support each other in our artistic endeavors and shower our OCs with unlimited love. The sheer satisfaction from finishing an internet art challenge. (Need I say more?) You will participate with these fine folks:
NaNoWriMo 2020: conclusions
November was devoid of drawing but filled with writing. I finished my first NaNoWriMo at 50,769 words. Managed to crawl through it, sometimes dragging my belly across the mud, and on rare occasions climbing to great (and dangerous) heights. My project's working title is Primal Energy Outbreak Prevention Top Secret Acts. In a set of short stories/novelettes, it tells of what Aevie had been doing in his youth as an engineer in the Prevention. The main characters are his enforcing team: him, Tower (under her original name that I haven't come up with yet), Saikha, Isaac and Irestos. There are inhumane powers, adventures, new friendships, trouble, life and death situations, responsibilities, hierarchies and power relations. A couple of bad guys appear, and some are worse than Isaac. For most part though, the title of the bad guy is fluctuating across the characters. I've been documenting my progress in an excel sheet to make sure I don't get lost with my word count. It's still a big
Task 4: Wish (July 4th - 17th)
Hope you guys are not melting in the heatwaves and keeping safe from the Corona :phew: Congratulations to everyone who made it in time with the Wardrobe task, and those who are still working on it, you're doing great! Now, the time has come for the next task: Wish! Task Four: Wish What is your OC's greatest wish or goal in life? What drives your OC? What is your OC willing to sacrifice for their greatest wish? What keeps them from achieving it? Give your OC a motive, a purpose, a challenge. Illustrate your partner's OC's wish, and describe your OC's wish to them. Note your assigned partner to discuss your OC's wishes and the details of the trade. If you're going solo, illustrate your OC's wish the way you seem fit. Purpose of this task: Portraying motivations and goals of your character. Examples from the previous round: https://www.deviantart.com/oc-training/gallery/70702870/11-4-wish Trade Allotments: @quietuses will draw Andrzej's wish, and @Virgoferra will draw Andrew's
Task 1: Guess Who [STRICT DEADLINE] June 1-14
New and old members, welcome (back) to the Twelfth round of the OC-Training! It's time for another exciting summer round! Get ready for the first task: Guess Who! This journal looks a little different from our previous journals, as Eclipse does not allow for easy text editing. There will be some experimenting with the upcoming journals - we're doing our best and that will have to do! In case you didn't send us an enrollment picture there's no need to worry - please focus on your Guess Who picture! As long as your Guess Who gets submitted before its deadline, your OC will be accepted into the round. Important Adjustments An auto-withdrawal will take effect if a participant becomes inactive (no tasks past Wardrobe or less) by the time we reach the sixth task (July the 28th). Instead of doing all of your tasks in a week, please keep to the suggested operating time as much as possible. Art trades will be automatically considered cancelled if the parties fail to communicate with each
